Your voice library

Voices in the sidebar shows every voice you can use in one place: built-in voices from each engine, and the voices you've cloned.

Browse

• Search by name, language or tag.
• All / Favorites / Yours / Built-in narrows the list.
• All engines limits the list to one engine.
• #tags appear once you've tagged something. Click one to filter; click it again to clear.

Favorites come first, then your own voices, then natural-sounding neural voices, with system voices last.

Preview

Hover over a voice's avatar and press ▶.

• Built-in voices speak a short introduction. The first preview takes a moment; replays are instant.
• Your cloned voices play the original recording they were made from.

Favorite

Click ☆ on a card, or Add to favorites in its details. Favorites appear at the top of the library, and in a Favorites section at the top of Studio's voice list.

Details

Click a card to open its details panel:

• Rename (your voices): click the name and type.
• Tags: type a tag and press Enter. Backspace in an empty box removes the last tag. Existing tags are suggested as you type.
• Consent record (your voices): the consent statement, who gave it, and when.
• Use in Studio: opens Studio with this voice selected.
• Export (your voices): saves a .voxvoice file you can back up or share.
• Delete (your voices): click, then Confirm delete. Takes you already made are kept.

Press Esc or ✕ to close the panel.

Share and import voices

Export creates a .voxvoice file containing the recording, name, tags and consent record.

To import one:

1. Click Import at the top of Voices and choose the .voxvoice file.
2. Confirm you have permission to use the voice, and optionally who gave it.
3. Click Import.

Your confirmation is saved together with the voice's original consent record, so its history is never lost.

Cloned voices need Chatterbox to speak. Without it, they still appear in the library (dimmed) and you can still preview their original recordings.
